Detective Hank version 1.02

Detective Hank and the Golden Sneeze has been updated to version 1.02! Apart from fixing a couple of glitches, we've also been listening to the feedback from the community and started implementing new features to the engine.

This update includes 2 new features:
  • You can now jump to the next choice. If you feel the need to get straight to the next choice when, for example, you want to 100% the game, you can do so in the pause menu. Select the gutton to jump to the next choice and see the whole game fly by at super speed until the next choice arrives.
  • The mouse scroll wheel now lets you read back previous text. If you missed a part of the story by an accidental click or jumping ahead with the new jump feature, you can now read back previous text by scrolling up with your mouse wheel. Incidentally, scrolling down brings you back to the end again.

In the coming weeks we will be releasing more updates. Keep an eye on our site and Steam page!

More music coming up!

As there is quite some demand for the music of Detective Hank, we've released the next set. The 2 tracks from the demo "Detective Hank; A Prelude to Tea" are now available for your enjoyment on the Youtube channel of Storytime Symphony.

Tuesday, 10 May 2016

Come play the Detective Hank demo prelude.

We are happy to announce the demo prelude to "Detective Hank and the Golden Sneeze," called "Detective Hank; A Prelude to Tea." This prelude contains a completely different story, so you can play it separately and with no spoilers.

Play Detective Hank; a Prelude to Tea on

Detective Hank finds himself at tea after work hours when his cookie gets stolen. Since Hank is a detective, he's going to find out who took his cookie and in the mean time, get himself another cookie from the kitchen.

Features of this prelude:
  • Find out whodunnit in 3 different scenario story lines
  • Changing clues, depending on the culprit
  • Red herrings, not every clue points to the right culprit
We hope you'll enjoy this demo. The full game will have more suspects, more culprits, more locations and more functions, including a save option.

Detective Hank: Stay awhile and listen to the full trailer song.

For "Detective Hank and the Golden Sneeze" we wanted to put extra care into the music and it seems you all really appreciate that. On social media, during play tests and even discussing the game casually, people tell us that the music is fun and nice to listen to. Thank you all for your kind feedback!

To show our gratitude, we had a talk with our music composer, Storytime Symphony, and we decided to release the game music song by song. To start off, we released the music from the game's trailer, a song called "Let me think". You can listen to it on Youtube or here in the embedded player:

"Let me Think" is part of the full game's soundtrack to "Detective Hank and the Golden Sneeze." If you want to support the game, please vote for us on Steam Greenlight (or take a look in the steam client) and share the links with all your friends!

But why would you want to read about us when we also released a perfectly good trailer to go with our Greenlight campaign? Enjoy!

We did not build this project on our own. Art is provided by studio Enalya, music is provided by the upcoming Storytime Symphony and our trailer is voiced by the lovely Francesca Hogan.
